Tethering Your Jetpack
You can connect to the internet by tethering your jetpack to the
USB 2.0 port on your computer. USB tethering is compatible with
Windows 8 (32-bit/64-bit), Windows 7 (32-bit/64-bit), Windows
Vista SP2 (32-bit/64-bit) and Windows XP SP3 (32-bit). For Windows
7/8/Vista SP2 a CD Drive will be populated on your computer when
the MHS291L is tethered to your computer. Double-click and follow
the Install Wizard.
Note
• USB Tethering is not compatible with Mac OS.
• It is recommended that you use a USB 2.0 port when
tethering, but if your computer only has USB 3.0 ports,
try to update the USB 3.0 host controller driver. If your
computer has a mix of USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports, you can
identify USB 3.0 ports by color. On many newer systems,
a USB 3.0 port may be identified by having blue plastic
components.
• You can turn Wi-Fi on or off when tethered. See Wi-Fi On/
Off on page 26.
• The USB driver includes GPS driver. You can turn GPS on of
off. See GPS on page 44
