Check the fill level in the dirt container prior to start-
ing work and empty the container if necessary.
Depending on the application, install the disposal
bag or the safety filter bag when dry vacuuming,
see "Dry vacuuming".
Ensure that the dirt container has been inserted
properly.
Attach the desired accessories (not included).
Automatic monitoring of suction capacity
The machine is equipped with a suction power monitor.
The control lamp "Vacuum pressure" lights up red if the
air speed in the suction hose falls below 20 m/s (see
"Assistance in case of malfunctions").
Note: The control lamp "negative pressure" can occa-
sionally light up red during normal operation (e.g., while
working with a floor nozzle), if the air volume comes
down (cross-sectional reduction) causing a lower pres-
sure.
Note: There is no defect in this case; only an indication
that, as specified above, the air volume has reduced
and the low pressure has increased.
Anti-static system
By means of the earthed suction nozzles static charges
are bled off. This way, the electrically conductive acces-
sories approved by the manufacturer prevent the forma-
tion of sparks and current surges.
Operation
WARNING
The flat pleated filter must always be in place while vac-
uuming.
–
Unused flat-fold filters may only be stored and
transported in the packaging (carton).
Illustration
–
The lamella of the flat-fold filter should not be
touched during installation.
Close the suction connection
WARNING
Health risk on account of fine dust! If the suction hose is
removed, the suction connection must be closed.
Illustration
Properly insert the connection socket in the suction
connection.
Push in the connection socket until it locks into
place.
Dirt receptacle
Note: The dirt container must be emptied if it is filled up
to the lower edge of the suction nozzle on the waste
container.
–
Check the fill level of the dirt container at regular in-
tervals, as the appliance does not shut off automat-
ically.
Dry vacuum cleaning
WARNING
–
Two suction hoses may not be connected to the
vacuum cleaner at the same time. One suction noz-
zle must be tightly sealed with the connection bush-
ing.
–
When using the disposal bag, the lower suction
nozzle must be tightly sealed.
–
When using the safety filter bag, the upper suction
nozzle must be tightly sealed.
–
If the suction hose is connected to the wrong suc-
tion nozzle, a malfunction of the appliance occurs
(automatic monitoring of the suction performance
does not respond, increased dust emission, dis-
posal bag is sucked towards the top).
Caution: Depending on the application, the suction
hose can be attached to 2 different suction nozzles:
1
Suction nozzle on the intermediate ring:
Dry vacuum cleaning with disposal bag: Coarse
dusts, large quantities of vacuumed material over a
short period of time
The device is equipped with a dust bag, order no.
9.989-606.0 (5 pieces).
2
Suction nozzle on the dirt container:
Dry vacuum cleaning with safety filter bag: Asbes-
tos, fine particles, constantly large quantities of
vacuumed material
The appliance is equipped with a safety filter bag
with a sealing cap, order no. 6.904-420.0 (5 pcs).
Note: You can use this appliance to take up all types of
dust up to dust class H. The use of a dust collection bag
is required by law.
Note: As an industrial vacuum cleaner the appliance is
suitable for vacuuming up dry, combustible dusts with
MAK values.
Changeover from wet to dry vacuum cleaning
ATTENTION
Please note the following when switching from wet
to dry vacuum cleaning:
If you vacuum dry dust while the filter element is still wet
the filter will become obstructed and may be damaged
beyond repair.
Dry the wet filter properly before use or replace it
with a dry one.
Change the filter, if required, according to instruc-
tions under the section "Maintenance and Care".
Installing disposal bag/safety filter bag
Lock parking brakes.

Pull the locks of the placement mechanics up.
Pull the push handle upward. The container is un-
locked and lowered.

DANGER
Risk of explosion! The electrostatic earthing between
chassis and dirt container via the spring bow must be
ensured.
Reinsert the container and lock it with the push
handle.
