Operating instructions: Skip barrow with
tilting body, types W 542, W 544 and W 546
1.1 Application
This skip barrow is suitable for transportation of bulk goods for indu-
strial applications. It has a load bearing capacity of 250 kg, 400 kg and
600 kg.
1.2 Initial operation
Prior initial operation, check that the wheels are correctly secured and
that the anti-tipping safety device is in position.
1.3 Handling and operation
The maximum load capacity of 250/400/600 kg may not be exceeded.
For correct loading the load centre should be approximately in the cen-
tre of the skip base. The equipment should only be used on hard,
smooth surfaces. To tip the skip, unlatch the safety bar, use your foot
to hold the barrow on the support frame and carefully tip the skip using
both handles. Once the skip has been returned to its initial position,
return the anti-tipping device to its fixed position. Prior tipping opera-
tions, ensure no persons or obstacles are in the tipping area! During fork
lift transport always tighten the locking bolts on the fork lift pockets.
1.4 Maintenance and repair
The equipment requires hardly any maintenance. Depending on the site
of operation and conditions, the wheels and timber blocks should be
regularly checked for signs of damage.
1.5 Testing
At least once per year by a qualified person. Any faults detected during
this check are to be recorded, and those responsible for eliminating
faults are to be notified.
Instructions for the operator
Caution when parking the fully loaded skip barrow. Ensure that there is
a sufficient distance away from sloping surfaces (ramps, etc.).
