To set up the energizer for use, install the battery and connect the energizer to an electric
fence and an earthing system.
Switch the energizer off before installing or connecting a battery.
Installing the battery
1. P lace the energizer on a flat surface. Open the lid of the energizer by releasing the side
latches. Remove any loose accessories from the battery compartment.
2. S elect a deep-cycle 12 V battery to use
with the energizer.
3. I nsert the battery in the
battery compartment.
4. T ake the battery leads and connect the red (+) spade connector to the spade terminal
marked + (on the underside of the lid).
5. Connect the black (–) connector to the spade terminal marked –.
