CONFIGURATION
Your WASP-N can be configured in two ways; if you have an Apple device (iPhone or iPad),
you can download the WASP UTIL application from the Apple iTunes store.
The second method is to use a Windows-OS based computer. You will need to download
the WASP USB Configuration Utility from the WASP Forum Software Center. Locate the
latest release of the WASP USB Configuration Utility (not the WASP Configuration Utility).
CONFIGURE WASP-N USING THE WASP UTIL APPLICATION
Follow the steps below to configure your WASP-N to join your Wi-Fi network using the
WASP UTIL downloaded from the Apple iTunes store.
1. Install the WASP UTIL from the iTunes store. Search for WASP UTIL in the iTunes
store, and select the app by NPE, Inc.
2. Turn on your WASP-N in Limited Access Point (LAP) mode. To do that ...
a. Push the button until the RED LED flashes twice.
b. Release the button.
c. Push the button and release the button a second time for about 1 second.
d. When the GREEN LED begins flashing once per second you have entered
LAP mode.
3. Go to Settings | Wi-Fi on your Apple device and look for a network named WASP-
XXXXXX, where XXXXXX are the last six characters of the 11digit serial number on
the label of your WASP-N. The label is on the backside of the unit.
4. Select the WASP-XXXXXX (where XXXXXX match last six characters of the 11digit
serial number on your WASP-N) network to join, you will not be prompted for a
password because this is an open network.
5. Close Settings and Start the WASP-UTIL app. You should see the last six
characters of your WASP-N listed under WASP(s) on the opening page of the app.
6. Tap the entry and select Open a Control Connection. This will take you to the
configuration page.
7. Configure the following settings
a. Enter the SSID (or network name) of the Wi-Fi Access Point into the SSID
field or select the Scan Network button to searchfor Wiki Networks.
b. Enter the password for the network into the PassPhrase field.
c. Select the type of security by tapping the appropriate button - None, WPA,
or WPA2.
d. If you are using DHCP for automatic addressing on your network, skip the
Static IP, Static Subnet and Static Gateway settings.
e. If you are not using DHCP, Set DHCP to OFF.
