Installing the Boot Rod &
Hardware
1.
From the inside of the boot, put the two
hex head screws (738-1225) through
the holes at the bottom front of the
boot. See Figure 12.
2.
Put the mounting rod (747-06317A) in
place over the hex head screws. Make
sure the tip of the rod is facing out
from the boot. See Figure 12.
3.
Begin threading the two flange lock nuts (712-04064) onto the hex head
screws. See Figure 12.
4.
Using a 7/16" wrench or socket on the screw and a 7/16" box wrench on
the lock nuts, tighten down so flange is flush to secure the assembly.
Installing the Deck Chute
1.
With the tractor's discharge chute
raised up and held open (1), install the
boot by placing the boot mounting
rod into the chute mounting tab (2),
as shown in Figure 13.
2.
Secure the boot to the deck using a
wing knob (720-04122) from hardware
pack 689-00567. See Figure 14.
NOTE: If present, remove the protective
cap off of the mounting stud on the
mowing deck as shown in the upper inset of Figure 14.
IMPORTANT! Be certain that the bottom of the boot is located inside of the lip of the deck
opening, as shown in Figure 15.

Installing the Hose
1.
Thread the upper end of the hose securely
into the upper chute support. There are two
tabs on the lower inside part of the upper
chute support to allow for secure threading.
See Figure 16.
NOTE: The hose and upper chute support
are left-hand threaded. Thread counter-
clockwise until secure.
2.
Lift by the handles at the bottom of
the hose. Slide the hose over the boot
mounted on the cutting deck, as shown in
Figure 17.
3.
Make sure the connection is secure and
there are no gaps between the hose and
the boot.
4.
If open, close the grass catcher cover prior
to mowing.

Install The Counterweight
The front weight kit is designed for use with all RZT-L (Lap Bar) Residential Zero-
turn models. The front weight kit is NOT designed, nor required, for use with all
RZT-S (Steering Wheel) Residential Zero-turn models.
This front-weight kit is required when operating any compatible lap bar
RZT-L models equipped with a grass collector. Failure to install this kit may
result in serious injury or death.
Before beginning installation, place the RZT-L on a firm and level surface,
set the parking brake, place the PTO in the disengaged (OFF) position, stop
the motor and remove the ignition key to prevent unintended starting.
Installing the Counterweight
NOTE: Having a second person assist you by holding the weight bar in place will ease in
completing the following steps.
1.
Place two washers (736-0208), from hardware pack 689-00569, over top of
the mounting holes. See (a) in Figure 18.
2.
Slide two clip nuts (726-0211) into the mounting holes on the underside of
the tractor frame. See (b) in Figure 18.
3.
Place the bracket assembly on top of the washers and use two bolts (710-
0276) and two nuts (712-04063) to secure the mounting bracket. See (c) in
Figure 18.
4.
Loosely fasten the bottom bracket assembly to the tractor frame with two
bolts (710-0643). See (d) in Figure 18.
5.
Secure the upper and lower bracket with two bolts (710-04482) and two nuts
(712-04217). See (e) in Figure 18.
6.
Firmly tighten the two bolts (710-0643) installed in step 4.
7.
Place counterweight (719-04271A) on the bracket (703-11046) and align
with tabs. Secure counterweight with two bolts (710-0859) and two nuts
(712-04217). See Figure 18.
