4.1. PROCEDURE
1. Press the trigger to switch the instrument on and make a
measurement.
2. The SCAN indication blinks on the screen. Release the
trigger. The HOLD symbol is displayed and the last
measurement is frozen until the instrument switches off,
at the end of 8 seconds.
3. Press the trigger again and configure the measurement
parameters using the SET key and possibly the keys
(see § 4.4).
Note:
When it switches off, the instrument stores the last measu-
rement configuration.
If the trigger press is maintained, the instrument measures
continuously.
4.2. MEASUREMENT PRECAUTIONS
If the surface to be measured is covered with frost or
particles, clean it, if possible, so as to expose the surface
before making the measurement.
If the thermometer seems to give incorrect readings,
check the condition of the measurement lens and look
for condensation or particles that might obstruct it. Then
clean it, carefully following the instructions of the § 6.3.
4.3. RATIO OF TARGET DISTANCE TO
MEASUREMENT FIELD DIAMETER
This ratio, also called field of view, indicates the diameter of
the measurement field of the sensor at a specified distance
from the target (see figure below).
