Caution!
The smoke detector is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose the device to
any moisture or rain.
The product does not warn against fire or smoke if the batteries are empty.
Do not open or manipulate the smoke detector since this could result in mal-
functions.
6. Installation
The smoke detector is operated with one 3V CR123A battery and does not require
any extra wiring. You can install the device either on the ceiling or on a wall.
7. Commissioning the smoke detector
Take the device out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Then
press and hold the Test button for about 4-5 seconds till the LED starts flashing.
Release the button after about 2 seconds. You will hear a beep. This means that
the device is switched on and ready.
7.1 Battery
The smoke detector has a built-in and non-replaceable CR123A battery. This bat-
tery will keep the smoke detector working for about 10 years (depending on how
often the test is performed, or the device is triggered).
If the battery is empty, then the entire device needs to be replaced.
7.2 Self-test
Press the test button briefly. The
alarm will go off briefly. If you do not
hear an alarm after pressing the test
button, this could be due to a faulty
battery or the device could be dama-
ged. Replace the device without fail in
such cases.
