7.5 Low battery

When the device detects that the battery voltage is low and the device needs to
be replaced, the red LED flashes once in about every 48 seconds and a beep is
heard. Replace the device promptly with a new one in such cases. The battery
should last for about 10 years depending on how many times the detector has
sounded the alarm.
8. When the alarm goes off
When the alarm goes off and you did not press the test button, this is a warning of
a dangerous situation involving a fire or smoke development.
To be prepared for such an event, you should work out escape plans. Discuss these
escape plans regularly with all residents and household members.
Define two exits from each room and an escape route that leads to the outside.
Designate a safe meeting place for all members outside the respective building.
8.1 Muting the alarm sound
You have the option to mute the alarm sound for about 8 minutes. Press the
"Test button" in the middle of the smoke detector during the alarm. The red LED
flashes every 8 seconds. This means that the mute function is enabled.
The alarm will automatically have the normal triggering sensitivity after 8 minu-
tes.
