3. Safety instructions and warnings

The Easys system reflects the state of the art and is built in
accordance with recognised safety regulations.
The Easys system may present hazards if it is operated improper-
ly or not for the intended purpose.
Any failure to avoid dangers may result in damage to property
and injury to life and limb.
Therefore, always check the Easys system for changed operating
behaviour and malfunctions and, if necessary, take the Easys
system out of operation by unplugging it from the mains power
supply. In the event of any problems or malfunctions, please
contact your retailer or manufacturer.
With the drawer open all the way, allow a minimum distance
from fixed objects of 500mm.

During assembly and installation, avoid any collision between
opposite furniture parts operated by Easys when they open
simultaneously. Allow an adequate safety distance.
NOTE
Furniture opened by Easys must comply with the safety require-
ments for storage furniture in accordance with EN 14749 or EN
14073-74 or EN 16121.

3.1 Residual risk

NOTE
Handling the Easys system involves residual hazards that could
not be eliminated by design measures.
The following prohibited activities and situations are associated
with residual risks:
• operating the Easys system in any way other than for its
intended use.
• operating the Easys system if it is faulty.
• operating the Easys system if changes occur in the way it
operates.
• operating the Easys system with overloaded or jammed furni-
ture parts.
• Operating the Easys system from an overloaded or faulty
electrical installation.
General safety rules
• Only operate the Easys system if it is in proper working order.
• Contact your retailer or manufacturer when installing the
system and instruct a qualified electrician to carry out work
on the electrical installation.
• Operate the Easys system from an easily accessible power
socket or have a switched power socket installed.
• Do not make any unauthorised alterations to the Easys sys-
tem.
Observe the safety precautions!
There is a risk of injury while assembling and installing the
system as well as while cleaning and performing repairs!
1. Before assembling and installing the system as well as clea-
ning and repairing it, disconnect the Easys system from the
power supply. To do this, unplug the power supply unit from
the mains power socket.
2. Installation, servicing and dismantling work as well as start-
ing up the system and selecting settings must only be done
by a skilled person.
3. Any ingress of moisture into the power supply unit presents a
danger to life from electric shock.
4. Damage to the Easys system may put your safety at risk.
Check the system for visible damage. Never put an Easys
system into operation if it is damaged.
5. Immediately instruct a qualified electrician to repair any
damage to the wiring. For replacement parts please contact
your retailer or the manufacturer.
6. Touching live connections and modifying the electrical and
mechanical configuration will expose you to hazards and may
result in the Easys system malfunctioning. Never open Easys
system components or the power supply unit.
