IV. PREPARING THE PRODUCT
BEFORE FIRST USE:
1) Before using the product and all its components, check that
they are not damaged. If they are, do not use the appliance and
contact qualified personnel or your dealer.
2) Remove the appliance and accessories from the packag-
ing and check they are intact: if there is any visible damage or
doubt, do not use the appliance and/or its components.
Warning: the packaging and all its parts must always be
kept out of reach of children because they may cause
suffocation (bags) or small parts may be swallowed.
IMPORTANT: as with all new electrical equipment in-
tended for contact with food, before the first use, for
hygiene reasons, you should clean the appliance thor-
oughly and wash all the accessories, paying particular attention
to the sharp blades: wipe the surface of the appliance, the tank
unit and the jug with a damp cloth.
The first time the appliance is switched on, there may be a slight
odour; this is absolutely normal in all electrical goods.
3) Clean the appliance as follows, referring to the "OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS" paragraph for how to assemble the individual
components:
WARNING: do not fill the boiler directly from the tap so
as to avoid wetting the electrical components (fig. D).
a) Fill the tank completely (or at least to the minimum
level recommended
with cold tap water. Do not use
demineralised water. Close the cap and rest the tank on the
base.
b) Attach the jug to the base, taking care to remove any traces
of dirt. Insert the tilting basket into the jug, close the lid and
plug in the appliance.
c) Set 30 minutes on the display and turn on the appliance by
turning the ON/OFF dial upwards.
d) At the end of the cooking cycle, turn the dial to the horizontal
OFF position
and leave the appliance to cool completely (at
least 15 minutes).
WARNING: do not enable the blending function: boil-
ing water may come out of the jug unexpectedly, caus-
ing scalding.
e) Unplug the power cord from the socket and from the appli-
ance, remove the jug, open the lid, remove the basket for cook-
ing food and throw away any water remaining inside the jug,
tank or boiler. Wash the jug, basket and lid with warm water and
normal washing up liquid and rinse thoroughly.
f) Remove the tank, unscrew the cap and rinse with cold tap
water.
WARNING: the base should never be washed or im-
mersed in water, except as explained in the "BOILER
