PRACTICAL ADVICE FOR MAKING GREAT-TASTING
COFFEE
1. Cleaning the coffee machine is essential for making
great-tasting coffee. Clean the coffee machine regularly, as
described in the section about "CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE". Always use cold, fresh water in the coffee
machine.
2. Keep the ground coffee in a cool, dry place. After opening
the packet of ground coffee, reseal it so that it is airtight and
store it in the fridge to maintain freshness.
3. For optimum flavour, buy coffee beans and grind finely just
before making the coffee.
4. Do not reuse ground coffee as this will greatly reduce the
flavour of the coffee. Reheating coffee is not recommended
because the flavour of the coffee is at its best when it is
freshly-made.
5. Clean the coffee machine when the residues from
extraction cause oiliness. Small drops of oil on the surface of
black coffee is caused by the extraction of oil from ground
coffee.
6. Oiliness can occur more frequently if using coffee that has
been roasted too much.
