Purpose
The JuzoPro Palmar Xtec Digitus, made of inelastic
materials with adjustable, removable reinforcing ele
ments, immobilises the wrist and fingers (phalanges)
up to the distal interphalangeal joints.
Here is how to put on your
JuzoPro Palmar Xtec Digitus correctly:
1. Open all touch fasteners on the top and pull the
straps through the eyes up to the hook part (do not
open them completely!). Now slide your hand into
the orthosis. The thumb must be guided through
the dedicated opening (Fig. 1).
2. 2. Close the lower, wide touch fastener first, then
the upper strap at the back of the hand. Finally,
the strap to secure the fingers in fixed extension
(Fig. 2 and 3).
Correct fit of the orthosis is guaranteed if it firmly en
closes your wrist (Fig. 4). Please make sure the straps
do not constrict and do not exert excessive (painful)
pressure on the wrist. You can readjust the orthosis at
any time by repeating Step 2.
The large stabilisation stay can be removed, and also
reinserted, through an opening at the front. Before re
moval, the touch fastener (an additional touch fastener
is supplied with the product as a spare part) must first
be removed, and fastened again after the stay has
been inserted (Fig. 5). The two small stabilisation stays
can be removed, and also reinserted, via the small
opening on the underside (Fig. 6).
Please note:
Only wear your orthosis when prescribed by your
physician. Medical aids should only be dispensed by
suitably trained staff in a medical products supply
store. The effectiveness of the orthosis can only be
guaranteed if it is applied correctly. The orthosis is
largely resistant to oils, ointments, skin moisture and
other environmental influences. Certain combinations
may negatively impact on the durability of the fabric.
We therefore recommend that it gets examined
regularly by the medical products supplier. Should
the product become damaged, please consult your
specialist supplier. Do not repair the orthosis yourself
– this could compromise its quality and medical effica
cy. For hygienic reasons and because the orthosis is
individually tailored, it is not suitable for treating more
than one patient.
Washing and care instructions
Please observe the care instructions on the inside
of the product. Please remove the stabilising splints
before washing, as illustrated in Fig. 4. Wash the or
thosis separately the first time (possibility of bleeding).
Wash the orthosis and strap by hand at approx. 30 °C
using a laundry detergent for delicate fabrics. We
recommend using the mild Juzo Special Detergent for
this. Afterwards, please rinse it out well and allow it to
dry at room tempera ture. To reduce the drying time,
you can place the orthosis on a thick terry towel and
pat it dry. Do not leave it in the towel and do not place
it on a heat er or in the sun to dry. Please reinsert
the stabilisation rods into the pockets only when the
orthosis material has dried completely. This Juzo
product must not be cleaned chemically.
