CHOOSING
THE
(CUTTING TOOL)
PRO tile cutters come with 1/4 inch (6 mm) and 13/32 inch (10 mm)
scoring wheels. They can also be used with 5/16 inch (8 mm) and 3/4
inch (18 mm) scoring wheels, which are sold separately.
To select the most appropriate one, take into account the following
recommendations:
•
1/4 inch (6 mm) and 5/16 inch (8 mm) scoring wheels provide a finer
cut and are recommended for cutting soft, thin and slightly rough
tiles.
•
13/32 inch (10 mm) and 3/4 inch (18 mm) scoring wheels are most
suitable for glazed, thicker, tougher and rougher tiles. They are
also more durable for cuts requiring more pressure.

SCORING
WHEEL
USING YOUR TILE CUTTER
For proper use, follow Figure B, "Use":
1.
Position the tile: Place the tile on the cutter's base, glazed side
up, as indicated below:
1A For single cut
1B For repetitive cuts using the square to ensure an identical
width
1C For diagonal cuts at 45 °
1D For other angled cuts.
2.
Adjust the scoring wheel: Turn the handle to release the
scoring wheel. Insert the desired scoring wheel and adjust it to
the correct height to work comfortably and depending on the
thickness of the tile to be cut. Turn in the opposite direction the
handle to lock the scoring wheel.
3.
Mark: Using the scoring wheel, make a first mark at the rear end
of the tile.
4.
Score: Using the first mark as a guide, score the tile along its
entire length at once. It is essential to make a continuous,
consistent and clean cut in a single pass. However, for very hard
or very rough tiles, it is recommended to make two passes to
ensure that the glazed surface is cut through its entire thickness.
Otherwise, the break will not be clean and straight.
Narrow cuts (4a): To cut a narrow piece (i.e. 1 inch wide), first cut
a 2 inch wide piece, then cut it down the middle.
Curved cuts (4b): You can make curved cuts by turning the tile
with skill. It is recommended to use a pencil or other writing
instrument to draw the curve on the tile before cutting. Use a
template if necessary. Thanks to the single point separation
system, the base is flat which makes curved cuts easier.
Cut: Without moving the tile, use the separator lever to

apply pressure to the front of the tile until it breaks along
the line of cut. The separation system is progressive,
allowing you to apply suitable force for each type of tile.
