MEASURING PRINCIPLES
The principle at the heart of the pulse oximeter is a mathematical formula,
established using the Lambert Beer Law according to the characteristics of the
Absorption Spectrum of Reduced Haemoglobin (RHb) and Oxyhaemoglobin
(HbO2) in light and infrared areas.
The technology adopted is photoelectric inspection and recording of the
oxyhaemoglobin according to the pulse capacity, so that two light beams of
di erent wavelength (660nm and 905nm) can be focused on a human ngertip
through a blocking sensor. The measurement obtained from the light-sensitive
element is shown on the display by means of a process in the electronic circuits
and a microprocessor.
