Adjusting the Lift Post and Lifting the Vehicle

Before positioning the units under the vehicle, the work area to be used must have a hard level surface capable
of sustaining the load being lifted. Position the units under the vehicle by using the handle and place according
to the manufacturers recommended lifting points. Raise the lift post manually on each unit (when using in
pairs) to engage the manufacturer's recommended lift point Keep both lift posts at equal heights and insert the
pin in the nearest through hole in the lift post so that the pin fully engages both sides of the head plate and ram.
This position may not fully engage the lift point on the vehicle until the unit is pressurized to lift the load. If the
lift post is not fully engaged with the lift point, slowly apply air pressure until the lift post engages the lift points
on the vehicle. Before continuing to lift the vehicle, ensure that the lift post saddle is positioned such that the
lift point is cradled and captured on both sides by the saddle ears on each side of the lift post. Apply pressure
equally as outlined in "Operating the jack stands simultaneously." Once the proper height has be achieved,
insert the other pin through the hole in the ram and piston post such that the pins will fully engage both sides of
the head plate when lowered. Before lowering the units so that the pins fully engage the head plate, make sure
that the vehicle is level. Slowly release the air pressure and make sure the pin engages fully into both sides of
the head plate slots. Before exhausting the air pressure make sure the vehicle is level and stable. Fully
discharge the air pressure from the jack stands. Before beginning work and putting any of your body parts
under the vehicle, check one last time to ensure the vehicle is level and stable between the jack stands. If using
only one stand to do the lifting, make sure that the stand is positioned according to the manufacturers suggested
lifting point and that the load is balanced on the stand side to side. With one stand, it is extremely important to
ensure the load is level and stable during and after lifting. Loads that are not balanced can result in the tipping
of the stand which can result in lose of load, personal injury and/or property damage.
Do not connect two jacks to one control valve. Operating the jack stands in this manner can cause loss
of control during raising or lowering vehicles. Failure to heed this warning may result in personal and /
or property damage.
Assemble the connector according to figure 2.
