Defective pixels
The liquid crystal screen (LCD) is a high-tech product that contains about a million transistors
offering a high quality image. Occasionally, a few blue, green, red dots (corresponding to inactive
sub-pixels) may appear on the screen. This does not affect the performance of your product.
European Standard EN 9241-307 class II
•
Due to the very large number of transistors and the extremely complex manufacturing processes
associated with them, losses or problems with the addressing of individual pixels or sub-pixels
can occur in places.
Standard EN 9241-307 provides a definition of the characteristics relating to pixel errors. These
are listed in four classes and three types of errors. Each pixel in turn breaks down into three sub-
pixels corresponding to the basic colours (red, green, blue).
