4. Cleaning and Maintenance
4.1.1. Always ensure that the coffee maker is dis-
connected from the mains before descaling. Allow
the coffee maker to cool down before undertaking
any cleaning task.
4.1.2. Clean the outer parts of the coffee machine
with a damp cloth and a few drops of mild detergent
and dry
4.1.3. Do not use solvents or products with an
acid or base PH such as bleach or any abrasive
products.
4.1.4. To clean the permanent filter, simply empty it
out and rinse it under running water.
4.1.5. Dry all parts completely before re-assembling
and storing.
4.1.6. DESCALING: Scaling or furring is a common
problem in hard water areas. Frequency will depend
on your area and your water hardness and how
often you use your coffee maker.
4.1.7. Soft water areas – every 6 months, medium
water areas – every 2/3 months, hard water areas
– 6/8 weeks.
4.1.8. If the time it takes to brew coffee suddenly
increases, it is recommended that the coffee maker
be descaled. The hardness of your water can be
advised by your local waterworks.
