Prior to using your light, please read these instruc-
tions carefully. Keep them safe to have them at
hand at any time. If you pass the light on to some-
body else, always include these instructions.
1. Intended use
The PL 24Vario Desktop Light is intended to be
used exclusively for the illumination of photo and
video shots. It is not intended for use in other ap-
plications.
Use the light only as described in these instruc-
tions. Any other use has to be considered as not
as intended and can result in material damage or
physical injury. This light is not a toy.
Kaiser Fototechnik takes no responsibility for
dam ages caused by not intended or incorrect use.
2. Safety instructions
Please observe the following safety instructions:
WARNING!
Disconnect the light from the mains when not in
use or before cleaning.
Store the light safely. Keep the light away from
children.
Do not put the light into operation, if housing, cable
or plug is damaged. Unplug the mains cable from
the socket by holding it by the plug.
Do not look directly into the light for a longer period
of time, when it is switched on.
Do not disassemble or modify the light. Repairs
must only be carried out by qualified persons.
CAUTION!
Only use the light with parts designed for it.
Keep the light away from water and other liquids
and from combustible materials.
Make sure that the light is not covered during op-
eration.
Do not use or store the light at places with ex-
tremely high air humidity or at extremely hot
places. Keep the light away from long-standing di-
rect solar radiation.
Let the light cool down before boxing it.
3. Check the lighting unit and scope of supply
When unpacking for the first time, please check if
the scope of supply is complete. It comprises:
1 x PL 24Vario Desktop Light (1)
1 x Mains lead (17)
1 x Telescopic pole (12)
1 x Round base (13)
(The PL 24Vario 2Kit Desktop Lighting Kit (5852)
includes two PL 24Vario Desktop Lights, each with
mains cable, round base and telescopic pole).
Check also, if the light and the mains lead are dam-
aged by extraneous causes. Is this the case, do
not take the devices into operation.
4. Assembly / Tilting and swiveling the light /
Height adjustment
First mount the desktop stand by screwing the
telescopic pole (12) into the round base (13). Then
put the fastening socket (5) of the light onto the s-
tandard pin (11) of the telescopic pole (12) (fig. B)
and fasten it with the blocking screw (9).
Always make sure that the gravity center of the
light is positioned above the round base (13).
The light can be tilted forwards and backwards by
approx. 90° each (fig. C). To do this, hold the light
with one hand and loosen the wing screw (8) by
turning it anti-clockwise. Then set the light into the
desired position and tighten the wing screw (8) a-
gain.
