Required connections for GN610B or GN611B input cards (the G068 adapter is shown):
1. Connect the brown, grey and black shrouded banana plugs on KAB2139 to the artificial star adapter.
2. Connect the KAB2139 yellow shrouded banana plug (using the LD-024-1001712 adapter) to the system
chassis ground terminal.
WARNING
The star adapters' specifications are as follows and must not be exceeded:
•
3PH-STR-1K0-CAT2 (to be used with the GN310B or GN311B input card):
Maximum input voltage: 1750 V RMS between each of the phases (GN310/GN311B
adapter) 1000 V CAT II, 600 V CAT III, 300 V CAT IV basic insulation within a phase.
•
G068 (to be used with the GN610B or GN611B input card):
Maximum input voltage: 1000 V DC (707 V RMS) between each of the phases.
IMPORTANT
Connect the shield to the chassis ground on one side only. The shield can only effectively
reduce the external noise when the shield is connected to earth. Connecting the shield on
both sides could create ground currents, which would create extra measurement errors.
HINT/TIP
Best results are achieved by grounding the shield directly on the GEN DAQ mainframe
chassis ground terminal(s).
As the chassis ground terminal does not accept the shrouded banana plugs, every
KAB2139 cable comes with an adapter (LD-024-1001712) that can be mounted directly
underneath the chassis ground terminal of the GEN DAQ mainframe (see figure above).
