This manual provides information that is nec-
essary for proper installation and/or operation
of the product. Poor installation and/or
improper operating or maintenance will result
in unsatisfactory performance and a possible
failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any

Technical description

Suitable fluorescent dyes (not included in the
scope of delivery) are required for detecting
fluid leaks with the LED violet light lamp.

Operation

Detecting leaks
1. Turn off the engine.

NOTE
Observe the local regulations for han-
dling chemicals.
2. Add the appropriate fluorescent dye to the
fluid system.
3. Start the engine and run the system for
5 to 10 minutes to circulate the dye.
4. Turn off the engine.

NOTE
Use in low-light conditions to achieve
the best inspection results.
5. Put on the supplied fluorescence enhanc-
ing goggles.

6. Press the ON button (fig. 1 1, page 3) to
switch on the LED violet light lamp.
7. Scan the system with the LED violet light
lamp.
✔ Leaks will show a bright fluorescent glow.
8. Repair any leaks.
9. Clean the remaining dye from the leak
sites with a suitable dye cleaner.
10. Reinspect with the LED violet light lamp to
ensure all dye residue has been removed.

NOTE
Residual dye could give a false leak
indication.
11. Run the engine for 5 to 10 minutes.
12. Reinspect with the LED violet light lamp.
✔ No glow means that all leaks have been
repaired.
Replacing the batteries
1. Turn the end cap counterclockwise to gain
access to the battery case.
2. Remove the battery case.
3. Remove the old AAA batteries from the
battery case.
4. Put three new AAA batteries into the bat-
tery case.
5. Insert the battery case with the positive
pole facing forward into the lamp housing.
6. Secure the end cap.
7. Test the LED violet light lamp.

• Do not use sharp or hard objects or
cleaning agents for cleaning.
• Do not clean the product under run-
ning water or in dish water.
➤Occasionally clean the product with a damp
cloth.
