UNPACKING AND CLEANING
To ensure maximum performance from your planer, clean it properly and install it properly before use. As
soon as you receive the planer, we recommend that you follow these procedures:
1. Inspect the packing carton for any damage caused by shipping. Record the damage and report it
immediately to the carrier.
2. Open the packing carton and check that the machine has arrived in good condition. If not, report it
immediately to your distribution company.
3. Before lifting the machine, remove all bolts securing the machine to the shipping base.
4. Transport the machine to its final location with a forklift or dolly.
5. Remove the protective film from the table, bed rollers, feed rollers, cutterhead, and any loose packaged
items with the machine, including the lifting handles and motor pulley.
6. This film can be removed with a soft cloth dampened with kerosene.
NOTE: Do not use acetone, gasoline or oil paint solvent for this purpose.
7. Do not use solvents on plastic parts; solvents will melt or damage the plastic.
8. Care should be taken when cleaning the cutting head, as the cutting head blades are very sharp.
