Voltaje:
El voltaje al motor debe ser de +/- 10% del valor indicado en la placa de
identificación del motor o éste puede sobrecalentarse provocando una
sobrecarga, disparar protectores y reducir la vida de sus componentes. Si
el voltaje es inferior al 90% o superior a 110% del voltaje nominal al estar
el motor funcionando a máxima carga, consultar a la compañía eléctrica.
Conexión a tierra:
Instale, conecte a tierra y cablee el motor según el código local o los
requisitos del Código Eléctrico Nacional. Conecte permanentemente el
motor a tierra. Use la terminal a tierra (verde) provista en el motor; use
el tamaño y tipo de cable requerido por el código local. Conecte la ter-
minal de tierra del motor a la tierra de su red eléctrica.
Conecte un cable de cobre sólido Cal. 8 AWG al conector provisto en el
motor y a todas las partes metálicas de la piscina, spa o tina de hidro-
masaje y a todos los equipos eléctricos y tubería para el cableado que se
encuentre a menos de 1.5 mts (5 pies) de la piscina, spa o tina de baño.
Motores de 2 voltajes:
Los modelos AERIS II listados en este manual, pueden estar equipados
con motores de doble voltaje. En estos casos asegúrese que el insta-
lador conecte su bomba al voltaje correspondiente a su instalación o
sigue las instrucciones proveídas en la placa de conexiones del motor
para cambiarlo.
Cableado:
La bomba debe estar permanentemente conectada al circuito. La tabla A
proporciona los tamaños correctos de cable y disyuntor para la bomba
solamente. Si existen otros equipos o luces, etc. también conectados al
mismo circuito, asegúrese de agregar sus cargas a las requeridas para la
bomba antes de calcular los tamaños de cables y disyuntores. (Si no está
seguro cómo hacer esto o si esto es confuso, consulte a un electricista).
OPERACIÓN
AVISO:
NUNCA haga funcionar la bomba en seco. Puede dañar los se-
llos, causando fugas e inundaciones. Llene la bomba con agua (cebar)
antes de arrancar el motor.
RIESGO DE EXPLOSIÓN. Antes de retirar la tapa de la trampa:
1.
Apague la bomba y cierre las válvulas de seccionamiento de las
tuberías de succión y descarga.
2.
Libere toda la presión de la bomba y el sistema de tuberías.
Riesgo de fuego y quemaduras: Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, no
permita hojas, escombros o materias extrañas alrededor del motor.
Para evitar quemaduras al manipular el motor, déjelo enfriar durante 20
minutos antes de intentar trabajar en él.
Cebado:
Libere toda la presión del filtro (vea su manual del propietario), la bomba
y el sistema de tuberías. En un sistema de succión positiva (la fuente de
agua más alta que la bomba), ésta se cebará sola cuando las válvulas de
succión y descarga se abran; si no es así, desenrosque y quite la tapa de
la trampa y llénela (cebe) con agua. No lubrique la junta de la tapa de
la trampa; ésta contiene un lubricante interno permanente. NOTA: Si
reemplaza la junta por una no lubricada, aplique un lubricante a base
de silicón.
Inspeccione y limpie la junta, vuelva a colocar la tapa de la trampa y apri-
ete (sentido manecillas del reloj) solo con la mano (¡sin llaves!).
La bomba debe cebar ahora. El tiempo dependerá de la altura de la suc-
ción y la longitud horizontal de la tubería de succión. Si la bomba no se
ceba, asegúrese de que todas las válvulas estén abiertas, el extremo del
tubo de succión esté sumergido, la altura sea menor a 2m (6½'), y que no
haya fugas en la tubería de succión y repita el procedimiento. Si continúa
sin cebarse, consulte la sección Solución de Problemas.
Voltage:
Verify the voltage to the motor is within +/- 10% of motor nameplate or
it can overheat causing overload, trip protectors and reduce the life of
components. If voltage is below 90% or over 110% of the nominal volt-
age when the motor is running at full load, consult the power company.
Ground connection (Grounding/Bonding):
Install, ground and wire the motor according to local code or the require-
ments of the National Electrical Code. Permanently connect the motor
to ground. Use the ground terminal (green) provided on the motor; use
the size and type of cable required by the local code. Connect the ground
terminal of the motor to the ground of the electrical service.
Connect a solid copper wire No. 8 AWG to the connector provided in the
motor and to all the metal parts of the pool, spa or hot tub and to all the
electrical equipment, metal pipe and conduit that is within 5 feet (1.5m)
from the pool, spa or bath tub.
Dual Voltage motors:
AERIS II models listed in this manual may be equipped with 2-voltage
motors. In that case, the installer needs to make sure your pump is wired
according to the available voltage. To change it, instructions provided in
the motor connections plate or corresponding label need to be followed.
Wiring:
Pump must be permanently connected to the circuit. Table A provides
correct cable and circuit breaker sizes for pump only. If other equipment
or lights, etc. are connected to the same circuit, be sure to add these
loads to those required for the pump before calculating wire sizes and
circuit breakers. (If in doubt, consult a licenced electrician).
OPERATION
NOTICE:
NEVER run the pump dry as you may damage the seals, causing
leaks and floods. Fill the pump with water before starting the motor.
RISK OF EXPLOSION. Before removing trap cover:
1.
Stop pump. Close shut-off valves in suction and discharge pipes.
2.
Release all pressure from pump and piping system.
Risk of fire and burns: To reduce the risk of fire, do not allow leaves, de-
bris or foreign materials around the motor. To avoid burns when handling
the motor, let it cool for 20 minutes before attempting to work on it.
Priming:
Release all pressure from the filter (see its owner's manual), the pump
and the piping system. In a positive suction system (when source of wa-
ter is higher than the pump), it will prime itself when the suction and
discharge valves are open; otherwise, unscrew, remove the trap cover
and fill it (prime) with water. Do not lubricate the trap cover gasket; It
contains a permanent internal lubricant. NOTE: If you replace the gasket
with a non-lubricated one, apply a silicone-based lubricant.
Inspect and clean the gasket, replace the trap cover and tighten (clock-
wise) only by hand (no wrenches!).
The pump must prime now. Priming time will depend on vertical and hor-
izontal lenght of pipe. If pump does not prime, make sure all valves are
open, the end of the suction pipe is submerged, the lift height is less than
6½' (2m), and there are no leaks in the suction pipe. Repeat the proce-
dure. If pump still doesn't prime, see the Troubleshooting Guide section.
