1.1 Using this guide

Read this guide carefully and completely before working with the device.

Also observe the detailed instruction manual for this product. This is contained on the
enclosed USB stick and can be downloaded from the Narda website. In particular,
note the general safety notices.

Keep this guide at hand so that it is always available to all users when working with
the device.
⇒
Only pass the device on to third parties together with this guide.
1.2 Intended use
The Narda FieldMan is used to measure and evaluate electromagnetic fields.

Only operate the device under the conditions and for the purposes for which it was
designed.
⇒
Pay particular attention to the technical specifications in the data sheet for the device.
Intended use also includes the following:

Observe the national accident prevention regulations at the deployment location.
⇒
The device may only be operated by appropriately qualified and trained personnel.
1.3 Non-intended use
The Narda FieldMan is not a warning device that actively warns of the existence of
dangerous fields by means of visual or acoustic signals.
⇒
Always consider the device as a measuring device, never as a warning device.
⇒
Only approach unknown field sources while carefully observing the current measured
value display.
⇒
In case of doubt, use an additional warning device such as RadMan or Nardalert
from Narda Safety Test Solutions.
