CD/M D Unit
(XR-CA300/CA310 only)
This unit can control external CD/MD units.
If you connect an optional CD unit with the
CD TEXT function, the CD TEXT information
will appear in the display when you play a CD
TEXT disc.
Playing a CD or M D
1
Press (SOURCE) repeatedly to select CD
or MD.
In case of tape playback, press Z to eject the
tape.

Press (MODE) until the desired unit
appears.
CD/MD playback starts.
When a CD/MD unit is connected, all the
tracks play from the beginning.
Changing t he display it em
Each time you press (DSPL) during CD, CD
TEXT, or MD playback, the item changes as
follows:
Disc name*

If you have not labelled t he disc or if t here is no

disc name prerecorded on t he M D, " NO NAM E"
appears in t he display.

If you play a CD TEXT disc, t he art ist name
*
appears in t he display af t er t he disc name. (Only
f or CD TEXT discs w it h t he art ist name.)

If t he t rack name of a CD TEXT disc or M D is not
*
prerecorded, " NO NAM E" appears in t he
display.

— Auto Scroll
If the disc name, artist name, or track name on
a CD TEXT disc or MD exceeds 8 characters
and the Auto Scroll function is on, information
automatically scrolls across the display as
follows:
• The disc name appears w hen t he disc has
changed (if t he disc name is select ed).
• The t rack name appears w hen t he t rack has
changed (if t he t rack name is select ed).
If you press (DSPL) to change the display
item, the disc or track name of the CD TEXT or
MD disc is scrolled automatically whether you
set the function on or off.

Press (3) repeatedly to select
"A.SCRL-ON."
To cancel Auto Scroll, select "A.SCRL-OFF."
Note
For some discs w it h very many charact ers, t he
f ollow ing cases may happen:
— Some of t he charact ers are not displayed.
— Aut o Scroll does not w ork.
