EN
INTENDED USE:
• The BV-72 protects your baby or toddler against the harmful influences of
high-frequency sounds such as the sound coming from music installati-
ons, workshop equipment, garden tools with engine etc.
• The BV-72 earmuff is suitable for babies and toddlers from 12 months
and older.
• The ear muff is not suitable for growing children or adults.
• The BV-72 comes with 2 different headbands, each with a velcro closure.
This hearing protection is therefore suitable for almost every size of
child's head.
• If the strap can no longer be closed with the Velcro without pulling it out,
use a larger strap.
• The parent or guardian of the baby or toddler should ensure that the ear
muff is worn, adjusted and maintained in accordance with the instructions
in this manual and that the ear muff is regularly checked for usability,
otherwise the protection afforded by the earmuff will be severly impaired.
USAGE:
1. First determine which of the 2 supplied headbands fits around your
baby's or toddler's head, whereby the strap can be closed with the Velcro
fastener, without the headband having to be pulled out. Please keep in
mind that the earmuffs will still need to be in between.
2. Then place the headband on the 2 opened ear muffs and fasten the strap
by closing the ear muffs. Close the ear muffs and press firmly.
3. Now place the ear muffs over your baby's or toddler's ears. You can slide
the ear muffs on the strap so that you can position the ear muffs correctly
over your baby's or toddler's ears. Make sure that the headband follows
the shape of the head without hanging loose or being tight. Let the strap
run around the forehead, not in front of the eyes, mouth or nose.
4. Finally, close the strap with Velcro.
NEVER tighten the strap around the head. Close the strap with the
Velcro so that the strap stays in place and does not drop down.
Always put the hearing protector on your baby or toddler before he or
she is exposed to noise and leave it on for the entire duration of the
noise exposure, otherwise the protection afforded by the earmuff will be
severly impaired.
During use, regularly check that the ear muffs are still properly
positioned over the ears. In particular, hair and clothing such as hats
or cords can cause the ear muffs not to seal the ears properly, otherwise the
protection afforded by the earmuff will be severly impaired.
Do not use the ear muffs for more than 60 consecutive minutes or
more than 2.5 to 3 hours throughout the day.
The BV-72 is not a toy. Always store the hearing protector in a clean,
dry and safe place after use. Never leave your baby or toddler alone
with the hearing protector.
The life span of the BV-72 is, under normal conditions and use, 4
years after first use.
These ear-muffs are of medium and large size range. Ear-muffs
complying with EN 352-1 are of 'medium size range' or 'small size
range' or 'large size range'. Medium size range ear-muffs will fit the
majority of wearers.
WARNING: THE EAR MUFFS, AND IN PARTICULAR THE CUSHIONS,
CAN WEAR OUT DURING USE AND SHOULD BE CHECKED BEFORE
EACH USE FOR CRACKS AND LEAKS, FOR EXAMPLE. IF THE EAR
MUFF CUSHION IS DAMAGED, THE ENTIRE EAR MUFF MUST BE
REPLACED. THE CUSHIONS ARE NOT REMOVABLE AND CANNOT BE
REPLACED.
EAR MUFF BV-72
CLEANING & DISINFECTION:
• The headbands can be washed at 30 or 40 degrees in the washing
machine. However, first put the straps in a washing bag so as not to
damage the other laundry.
•
The straps are NOT suitable for tumble drying.
• The white shells of the ear muffs and the black plastic cushions can be
cleaned with a soft damp cloth.
• The part of the black plastic cushions that comes into contact with the
skin of your baby or toddler should be disinfected regularly with a product
such as soapy water, optical cleaning solution, or a solution with a very
low alcohol content. Depending on the use, it is necessary to disinfect the
product every 3 months.
• Do not immerse the ear muffs in water.
• The product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances.
Refer to the manufacturer for further information.
• The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic
performance of the earmuffs.
