4. Turn the lift strut to extend the stay or make it
shorter. Extend the stay to lift the rear edge of the
cover. Make the stay shorter to lower the rear edge
of the cover.
5. Tighten the nuts on the lift strut when the adjustment
is done.
6. Do a check of the parallelism. Refer to
check of the parallelism of the cutting deck on page
21 .
7. Attach the belt shield and tighten the screws.
8. Attach the right footrest plate and the front cover.
To remove the mulch plug
To change a 2-in-1 cutting deck from mulch function to a
cutting deck that ejects the grass to the rear, remove the
mulch plug found on the bottom of the cutting deck.
1. Put the cutting deck in servicing position.
2. Loosen the knob, remove the bolts that hold the
mulch plug and remove the mulch plug.
3. Put the cutting deck in mow position.
4. Attach the mulch plug in the opposite sequence.
To examine the blades
CAUTION: Damaged or incorrectly balanced
blades can cause damage to the product.
Replace damaged blades. Let an approved
service agent help you sharpen and balance
blunt blades.
1. Put the cutting deck in servicing position.

2. Look at the blades to see if they are damaged and if
it is necessary to sharpen them.
3. Tighten the blade bolts with tightening torque 45–50
Nm.
To replace the blades
1. Put the cutting deck in servicing position.
2. Lock the blade with a wooden block.

3. Loosen and remove the blade bolt, the washers and
the blade.
4. Assemble the new blade with the angled ends in the
direction of the cutting deck.
5. Attach the blade, the washer and the bolt. Tighten
the bolt with a tightening torque of 45–50 Nm.
To do a check of the engine oil level
1. Park the product on level ground and stop the
engine.
2. Open the engine cover.
3. Loosen the dipstick and pull it out.
