CARE AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING
• All maintenance should only be carried out by a qualified service technician.
• Before cleaning or performing any maintenance, remove the battery pack. For safe and
proper operation, always keep the tool and its ventilation slots clean.
• When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a
hazard or cause product damage.
• Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation
or when blowing dust. If the operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
• When cleaning the pole saw, DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids.
• Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils,
etc. come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic,
which may result in serious personal injury.
Cleaning
• Before cleaning or performing any maintenance, remove the battery pack. For safe and
proper operation, always keep the tool and its ventilation slots clean.
• When work has been completed, clean the tool to allow smooth functioning of the tool over
time.
• Always use only a soft, dry cloth to clean your tool. Never use detergent or alcohol.
• Always wear safety goggles when cleaning tools with compressed air.
8. Replacing the Bar and Chain
WARNING
• Always wear protective gloves when handling
the bar and chain. These components are sharp
and may contain burrs.
• Never touch or adjust the chain while the motor
is running.
NOTICE: When replacing the guide bar and
chain, always use the specified bar and chain
combination listed in this manual.
Disassembling the Worn Bar and Chain
a. Remove the battery and allow the saw to
cool. Make sure the oil-tank cap (E) is snug to
prevent oil leakage.
b. Position the pole saw on its side on a firm,
flat surface, so that the side cover is facing
upwards.
c. Rotate the side-cover knob (A)
counterclockwise, then remove the side cover
(B). Clean the side-cover with a dry cloth (Fig.
8a).
d. Remove the bar and chain from the mounting
surface. Remove the worn chain from the bar.
NOTICE: This is a good time to inspect the drive
sprocket for excessive wear or damage.
