5 Operation
Note
I
Before starting your new cooling device for the first time, you
should clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienic
reasons (please also refer to the "Cleaning and maintenance"
chapter on page 19).
5.1 Energy saving tips
Choose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against di-
rect sunlight.
Allow warm food to cool down first before placing it in the device to keep
cool.
Do not open the cooling device more often than necessary.
Do not leave the lid or door open for longer than necessary.
5.2 Using the cooler
Caution!

The lid of the cool box must always be secured with the lock when
loading and unloading (fig. 2, page 3). If the lid is fully open with-
out being secured, the box could tip over.

When transporting the cool box in your vehicle it should be
restrained using the vehicle's seat belts. In order to do this, route
the seat belt through belt guide (fig. 3 A or B, page 3).
Before starting the engine, make sure that lid of the cool box is
secured by the catch. To do this, move the cool box carrying handle
to the back (fig. 1 3, page 3)

Like every cooling device, your cooler must be properly ventilated
so that any heat created can dissipate. Otherwise proper function-
ing cannot be ensured.
➤ Place the cooler on a firm base.
➤ Connect the 12 V connection cable to a 12 V plug socket (12 V cigarette
lighter) in the vehicle.
