6. IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
To keep your CO detector in good working order, please follow these simple steps:
- Check the alarm sound and light indicators are operating correctly by activating the TEST/SILENCE function once
a week.
- Remove the device from the wall and clean it with a soft cloth once a month to remove any dust and dirt.
- Never use detergents or other solvents to clean the device.
- Do not spray air fresheners, hairspray or other aerosols near the device.
- Do not paint the device. Paint will interfere with the sensor's ability to detect CO. Never try to dismantle the
device or clean the inside.
- Put the device back in place, as soon as possible.
- When you use household cleaners or similar contaminants, the area should be ventilated.
Caution:
The following substances can affect the sensor and cause false reactions: methane, propane, isobutylene, isopropa-
nol, ethylene, benzene, toluene, ethyl acetate, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, alcohol-based products, paints,
thinners, solvents, adhesives, hair sprays, aftershaves, perfumes, and some cleaning products.
This device is designed to protect individuals from the harmful effects of carbon monoxide. It will not fully protect
persons with specific medical conditions. If in doubt, please consult a doctor.
