Operation
Fitting to the drum
Check first of all that the drum is suitable, clean and undamaged. Check the rim of the drum in particular.
1. Approach the drum to be loaded centrally with the drum lifter.
2. The drum clamp opens and closes automatically.
3. Lift the clamp to the level of the upper rim of the drum.
4. Adjust both sides simultaneously with the adjusting screw (1) until the grippers
fit against the wall of the drum. The sticker on the frame (3) can be used to
make sure both sides are adjusted evenly.
5. Lock the adjusting mechanism with the locking ring (2).
6. Lift the drum a little and then lower it in short jerky steps to check it is securely
held.
7. Lift the drum using the hand crank or the hydraulic pump.
8. The drum lifter is now ready to transport more of the same type of drum without
further adjustment.
Drum transport
Pull/push the drum lifter using the handle to the new location.
Drums should only be slightly raised when being transported.
Shaking the drum during transport is not permitted.
Do not exceed walking speed (3.6 km/h) during transport.
Setting down the drum
1. Lower the drum gently by releasing the release screw or turning the hand crank anti-clockwise.
2. The drum clamp will release automatically as soon as the drum touches the floor.
Faults (drum lifter with hydraulics)
If the drum lifter does not lift the load, there may be air bubbles in the hydraulic system. Section 2.2.1
describes how to remove air bubbles.
