Maintenance and repair
NOTICE! Only approved specialists authorised by the operator may undertake
maintenance and repair work.
To guarantee safe working with the product the following checks are necessary:
Regular check for ease of movement of the moving parts and if necessary lubrication with
commercially-available grease.
Regular visual inspections and operational checks at intervals of max. one year by a technical
specialist.
A visual inspection and operational check should include breaks, deformities, cracks, damage, wear,
corrosion damage and operational faults of the drum lifter and also that it is suitable for the types of
drum transported.
An inspection report log is to be compiled and kept by the operator as proof that the checks have been
carried out.
Additional tests should be carried out by a qualified technician in the event of damage or particular
incidents that could influence load capacity, and after any repairs.
Before visual inspections and operational checks, cleaning of the drum lifter may be necessary. This
particularly applies if the forks have been contaminated during use by materials such as dyes and
salts.
Drum lifter with hydraulics:
Check the hydraulic system for leaking fluid and if necessary tighten the screws or change the seals. If
topping up is needed ensure hydraulic fluid meeting ISO VG 46 is used.
The lifting chain should be checked along its entire length, even where parts are hidden.
If the following damage is detected on the chain, the drum lifter must no longer be used:
Any lengthening of the chain or individual links
Breakage of a link
Cracks in a link
Deformation of a link
Wear on the bolt retainer
If there is visible deformation or damage, the drum lifter must not be used.

Disposal
Before disposing of the product, it must be thoroughly cleaned of any liquid residue. Burning and cutting work
may only be carried out outside of Ex zones.
How to dispose of the product

observe the relevant national regulations.
2. Send components in different materials for professional recycling
in accordance with national regulations.
