Adjustment of sensitivity
KAS flush mountable for level control:
• Mount the sensor in the desired position, e.g. directly on
the container wall, on a bypass pipe or on the conveyor
belt. Make sure that there is no air gap between the sen-
sor and the container wall.
• Then fill the container with the medium to be scanned until
the active surface of the sensor is covered or position the
product to be scanned in front of the sensor.
• Turn the potentiometer screw to the right to increase the
sensitivity of the sensor until the desired switching point
is reached (LED lights up).
• Then turn the potentiometer screw another 1/4 turn to the
right to achieve reliable switching of the sensor.
• If the sensor switches immediately after filling or when
starting up (LED lights up), turn the potentiometer screw
to the left to reduce the sensitivity of the sensor until the
sensor switches again (LED switches off). Now turn the
potentiometer screw 1/4 turn to the right again to achieve
safe switching of the sensor.
KAS non-flush mountable for
Level control (measurement in the medium):
• Immerse the active surface (= thread-free zone or 25
mm) completely in the medium to be scanned.
• Turn the potentiometer screw to the right to increase the
sensitivity of the sensor until the desired switching point
is reached (LED lights up).
• Then turn the potentiometer screw another 1/4 turn to the
right to achieve reliable switching of the sensor.
• If the sensor switches when it is immersed in the medium
to be scanned (LED lights up), turn the potentiometer
screw to the left to reduce the sensitivity of the sensor
until the sensor switches again (LED is off). Now turn
the potentiometer screw to the right again as described
above.
