12. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject
to the Dangerous Goods Legislation require-
ments.
For commercial transports e.g. by third parties,
forwarding agents, special requirement on pack-
a g i n g a n d l a b e l i n g m u s t b e o b s e r v e d .
For preparation of the item being shipped, consult-
ing an expert for hazardous material is required.
Please also observe possibly more detailed
n a t i o n a l r e g u l a t i o n s .
Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up the
b a t t e r y i n s u c h a m a n n e r t h a t i t c a n n o t m o v e
around in the packaging.
13. W hen disposing the battery cartridge, remove
it from the tool and dispose of it in a safe
place. Follow your local regulations relating to
disposal of battery.
1 4 . Use the batteries only with the products
specified by Makita. I n s t a l l i n g t h e b a t t e r i e s t o
non-compliant products may result in a fire, exces-
sive heat, explosion, or leak of electrolyte.
15. If the tool is not used for a long period of time,
the battery must be removed from the tool.
1 6 . During and after use, the battery cartridge may
take on heat which can cause burns or low
temperature burns. Pay attention to the han-
dling of hot battery cartridges.
17. Do not touch the terminal of the tool imme-
diately after use as it may get hot enough to
cause burns.
1 8 . Do not allow chips, dust, or soil stuck into the
terminals, holes, and grooves of the battery
cartridge. It may cause heating, catching fire,
burst and malfunction of the tool or battery car-
tridge, resulting in burns or personal injury.
1 9 . Unless the tool supports the use near
high-voltage electrical power lines, do not use
the battery cartridge near a high-voltage elec-
trical power lines. It may result in a malfunction
or breakdown of the tool or battery cartridge.
20. Keep the battery away from children.

Only use genuine Makita batteries.
Use of non-genuine Makita batteries, or batteries that
h a v e b e e n a l t e r e d , m a y r e s u l t i n t h e b a t t e r y b u r s t i n g

Tips for maintaining maximum
battery life
1.
Charge the battery cartridge before completely
discharged. Always stop tool operation and
charge the battery cartridge when you notice
less tool power.
2.
Never recharge a fully charged battery car-
tridge. Overcharging shortens the battery
service life.
3.
Charge the battery cartridge with room tem-
perature at 10 ° C - 40 ° C (50 ° F - 104 ° F). Let
a hot battery cartridge cool down before
charging it.

W hen not using the battery cartridge, remove
it from the tool or the charger.
5.
Charge the battery cartridge if you do not use
it for a long period (more than six months).
INTRODUCTION
General information
This air compressor is equipped with an Oil-Less pump
designed for durability and no maintenance.
The compressor can be used for properly rated pneu-
matic nailers and staplers. An air pressure regulator is
supplied for these applications.
Intended use
This air compressor is designed for professional finish
nailing and stapling applications.
WARNING:
Never use compressor for appli-
cations other than to operate a properly rated
nailer or stapler. Use of the compressor for other
applications could result in property damage and
personal injury.
Separate air transformers which combine the
functions of air regulation and/or moisture and dirt
removal should be used where applicable.
WARNING:
Use the pressure gauge only for a
reference. Check the air pressure using calibrated
measuring equipment during and after in ating
objects.
