Contactless rotary field display
Note:
This function cannot be used for motors with frequency converters.
Note the table "Requirements for the motor" (chapter 6)
1.
Remove the test cables from the meter.
2.
Place the DFA3 parallel to the shaft on the motor. (max. 2 cm distance) -
Note the orientation symbol! (6)
3.
Switch the unit on with the main switch (1).
4.
Either the green LED "R" (4) or the red LED "L" (5) lights up. This shows the
direction of rotation of the field. (R = right / clockwise, L = left /
counterclockwise)
Checking the motor connection
1.
Connect the banana plug of the test cables to the input sockets of the
device. Note the colors or the encoding (L1, L2, L3) of the plugs!
2.
Plug the crocodile clamps into the other ends of the test cables.
3.
Attach
the
(L1 - U, L2 - V, L3 - W)
4.
Switch the unit on with the main switch (1).
5.
Note the orientation symbol! (6)
6.
Rotate the shaft of the motor half a revolution to the right (clockwise).
7.
Either the green LED "R" (4) or the red LED "L" (5) lights up. This shows the
direction of rotation of the motorwindings.
Checking a magnetic field
1.
To test a magnetic field, place the DFA3 close to a coil (e.B. solenoid valve).
2.
Switch the unit on with the main switch (1).
3.
Either the green LED "R" (4) or the red LED "L" (5) lights up. This indicates
the presence of a magnetic field.
