Diesel refueling and handling
Diesel is toxic and highly flammable! Keep diesel
only in containers designed and approved for this
purpose. Always screw and tighten tank caps and fuel
supply containers. Defective caps must be replaced.
Never use bottles or similar to remove or store service
products such as fuel. Someone, particularly children,
may be mistakenly taken to drink them.
Keep diesel away from sparks, flames, heat
sources or other ignition sources. Do not smoke
near diesel containers and tiller with diesel in the tank,
or during the fueling process.
Refill and empty the tiller fuel tank outdoors only.
Before refueling, shut of the engine and let it cool.
The diesel fueling process shall be carried out before the
combustion engine is switched on. While the engine is
running, it is not permitted to open the tank cap or
refuel.
Don't overfill the fuel tank. In order to allow space for
fuel to expand, never add fuel above the lower edge of
the filler cap. Additionally, comply with the instructions
for use of the combustion engine.
If diesel overflows, immediately clean any spilled fuel.
The combustion engine should only be switched on
after the surface dirty with diesel is cleaned. Any
attempt at ignition shall be avoided until the diesel
vapors have volatilized (dry with cloth).
If the diesel has come into contact with clothing, it must
be changed.
Clothing and protective equipment
Always wear security shoes with non-slip sole that fully
covers the foot while working. Never work barefoot or
in sandals, for example.
For maintenance and cleaning work, changing
accessories as well as transporting the appliance,
always wear tight fitting gloves.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Clothing worn
out during use of the equipment must be adequate and
tight, for example, a work boiler suit.
scarves, ties, necklaces or other similar large pieces of
clothing.
Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.
The rotating parts can touch or drag the hair or clothes,
causing serious injury.
Tiller transport
Carry the tiller only when the engine is off.
moving it, stop the engine and wait for the tines to stop
completely.
Always transport the equipment when the engine is
cold and without fuel.
The machine should always be loaded by two people,
respecting the transport points. Use loading ramps,
lifting devices.
For safety reasons, it is not permitted to exceed an
angle of inclination of 15° during transport and the
loading process, especially when using loading ramps.
Protect the appliance and its parts carried with
adequately dimensioned load securing devices (straps,
cables, etc.). Never transport the tiller with loose parts.
Carry the machine with a suitable trailer or on a suitable
loading surface, and not in the passenger compartment
(e.g. trunk) of a vehicle.
When transporting the machine, in force regional
legislation must be respected, in particular that
concerning the load being transported and the
transport of objects on loading surfaces.
