• If an extension cable is used it must be suitable for the power supply in question. Otherwise it causes
overheating of cable and/ or plug.
• Place the appliance on a rigid, flat and heat-resistant surface, away from open flames (such as gas
oven) and operate it out of reach of children.
• This appliance is neither suitable for commercial use nor for outdoor use.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended during use.
• Disconnect from mains power supply when not in use and before cleaning.
• Caution! The appliance is powered as long as it is connected to the power circuit.
• Switch off the unit before disconnecting from mains power.
• Never carry the unit by its power cord.
• Use only spare parts and accessories supplied or recommended by the manufacturer.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
SPECIAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• The protective grid must be properly closed at all times during operation.
• Place the desk fan on a level surface.
• During operation do not insert any foreign object or even your fingers into the protective grid.
• Do not cover the protective grid during operation.
• Incorrect assembly of the desk fan can cause fire, electric shock or injuries. Please observe,
especially after cleaning, that the front protective grid is assembled properly.
• Do not open the motor casing or the rotary knob, this will void your warranty. Only for cleaning
purposes open the protective grid as described in chapter "OPENING THE PROTECTIVE GRID AND
CLEANING THE BLADES".
• Do not use the desk fan in damp environs or in high humidity (e.g. bathroom).
• Do not place the desk fan in close proximity of an open window; entering rain can cause electric
shock.
• Do not use the desk fan with an electronic speed regulator or a timer.

BEFORE FIRST USE
• Remove all packaging materials.
• Ensure that all parts are in the box. Please contact your dealer or the authorized service center
directly in case something is damaged or missing.
• While unpacking compare all components with the drawing in chapter "COMPONENTS AND
LOCATION OF CONTROLS" and place them ready for assembly. Please take care that no small
components get lost.
• Clean the pedestal fan before first use, as described in chapter "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE".

ASSEMBLY
Mount the motor unit to the base/pole unit as follows:
• Loosen the thumbscrew for tilt angle setting (4) and remove it. Attention, the nut at the rear comes
loose; take care not to lose it.
• Attach the motor casing (2) in this slot. Please ensure that the holes are aligned.
• Slide the thumbscrew though the holes and attach the nut at the rear.
• Tighten the thumbscrew. Ensure that the nut at the rear sits in the recess.
• Your new desk fan is now ready for use. Before use please check again that the assembly followed
the manual in all steps.
OPERATION
• Clean the pedestal fan with a damp cloth before first use, as described in chapter "CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE".
• Connect the pedestal fan to mains power supply.
• Select the desired fan speed by turning the rotary knob 0/1/2 (3) clockwise.
• The tilt angle can be changed manually up to approximately 20º. Loosen the thumb screw (4) before
tilting the motor unit and tighten again afterwards.
• After use turn the rotary knob counter-clockwise to 0 to turn the desk fan off.
• Please disconnect from mains power supply after use.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• CAUTION: Disconnect from mains power supply and let the appliance cool down completely before
cleaning. Observe the safety instructions!
• Only use a damp cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive or abrasive detergents or sharp cleaning
utensils.
• Do not submerge the desk fan in water.
• Do not disassemble the desk fan completely.
• Clean the desk fan with a mild detergent an a damp cloth or sponge. Ensure that all detergent residue
is removed.
• Ensure that no water or other liquids enter motor casing or rotary knob.
• Do not use spray cleaners.
• Store the pedestal fan dry and cool when not in use.
