Kitchens. In the kitchen should be installed a heat detector should only if the distance to the stove is at least
4m.

Bedrooms: Install a device in every bedroom!

Corridors: Install a device in each corridor that leads to a bedroom. If the corridor is longer than 9m, install a
device at the beginning and end of the corridor.

Stairwell: Install a heat detector on each floor in the stairwell.
▪
Living and working rooms as well as storage areas.
▪
Cellar. Mount a device in the entrance area to the basement.

Rooms with electrical equipment

Attics: When installing heat detectors on pitched roofs, ensure a minimum distance of 0.5m-1m from the top
of the roof (see Figure 3).

Attics with horizontal ceiling: see Figure 4 for installation

Mount heat detectors at least 0.5m away from lamps!
▪
Install several devices in large corridors or large rooms. Observe a maximum distance of 15m!
▪
Install heat detectors in narrow corridors or rooms no larger than 1m wide in the middle of the ceiling.
Unsuitable mounting locations for heat detectors:
▪
Heat detectors should not be installed near heating, cooling- and ventilation shafts.
▪
On ceiling beams that are lager than 0.2m
▪
Near open fires or fireplaces
▪
In very dusty rooms.
▪
On A-shaped roofs, the heat detector must not be mounted at the highest point.
▪
In caravans or rooms with a low ceiling height.
Information about the battery:
This device contains a non-replaceable lithium battery. Under normal conditions the battery has a lifetime of approx.
10 years. When the battery is running low, a short warning tone sounds every 32 seconds for about 30 days and
the LED flashes briefly. During this time this device is still fully functional. However, it is strongly recommended to
replace the device immediately! After approx. 30 days the device is no longer functional and switches off. Replace
the device after an operating period of 10 years!
Note: The recurring warning sound can be muted for about 10 hours by pressing the TEST button. After 10 hours, a
short warning tone sounds again every 32 seconds.
General instructions for using batteries:
Danger:
Never expose batteries to extreme conditions, such as heat or strong sunlight! There is an acute risk of
explosion and leakage!
Danger:
Make sure that batteries can not be swallowed by children, animals and adults! In particular, keep children
and animals away from this product! If one or more batteries are swallowed, seek medical attention immediately!
Here is an acute danger to life. The substances contained in the battery can cause severe poisoning!
Caution:
Remove leaking batteries from the device immediately! The battery acid contained in the battery can
damage the unit! Avoid direct skin contact with leaking batteries! Wash your hands immediately after contact and
take care that the battery acid does not get into your skin, eyes or mucous membranes! Dispose of leaking and old
batteries according to the regulations.

Replace old batteries with batteries of the same type!
▪
Do not use rechargeable batteries. They have a too low voltage!
