Protective cover extension installation (Figure 8)
Use the nuts and screws provided to attach the protective covers to both sides of the cultivator.
4. COMMISSIONING
Starting the engine (Figure 9,10,11)
1.
Move the throttle lever to the "START RUN" position.
2.
If the engine is not warm, press the fuel primer pump 3 times.
3.
Grasp the starter grip and pull it slowly until you feel a stronger resistance. This is this point where
you need to pull the cord briskly and smoothly to the full arm travel until the engine starts. Allow the
starter grip to retract freely. After 3 to 5 pulls on the starter cord the engine should start.
4.
Once the engine starts running, move the throttle lever to the appropriate position.
Stopping the engine (Figure 12,13,14)
Emergency stop - move the throttle lever to the "STOP" position.
Normal operation - release the blade drive lever and move the throttle lever to the "STOP" position.
Cultivation blade operation (Figure 15,16)
The lever on the cultivator's left-hand grip is used to control the cultivating blades. Always set the throttle
lever to the highest level before using the blade lowering lever.
CAUTION!
Always hold the machine firmly when operating the blade lowering lever. Losing control
of the machine can cause serious injury.
For safety reasons, this lever is equipped with a safety pin to prevent accidental lowering of the blades.
Remove the safety pin on the lever before pulling to lower the blades. Push the lever towards the grip to
lower the cultivating blades.
Release the lever to stop the blades.
CAUTION!
The cultivator blades will continue to spin for a short time after the machine has been
stopped! When starting, make sure that your feet are at a safe distance from the
cultivator blades!
Practical hints for machine operation
When breaking up turfs or for a deep cultivation, push the cultivator forward as far as you can reach and then pull it
back firmly towards you. For the best results, repeatedly allow the cultivator to move forward and then pull it back.
The cultivating blades will pull the cultivator forward during operation; push down slightly on the grip to dig the
cultivator blades into the ground.
As the cultivator is pulled back, the cultivating blades will dig deeper and more aggressively into the soil.
Use extra caution when walking in reverse direction and pulling the cultivator backwards to avoid tripping and
falling.
If the cultivator digs in deeply and remains stationary, rock it gently from side to side until it starts to move forward
again.
When working on a slope, always stand transversely to the slope and maintain a firm and safe stance. Do not
operate the cultivator on the slopes that are too steep.
Before starting the work, remove all the visible stones and foreign objects from the area to be cultivated.
Work only in a sufficient light (in the daylight or sufficient artificial light). Do not use the cultivator in the rain or at
night.
