2. Vacuum Seal a FoodSaver
1. Begin with a FoodSaver
Vacuum Seal Bag
®
(or create a bag as described in the "How To Make a FoodSaver
Bag" on page 8).
2. Place item(s) in bag, allowing at least 3 inches (7.62 cm)
of space between bag contents and top of bag (Fig. 1).
The extra space is required to allow the bag to seal tightly
around contents.
3. Using two hands, insert open end of bag, curled down, into
Vacuum Channel (Fig. 2). Your FoodSaver
®
automatically vacuum and seal. To Vacuum: DO NOT PRESS THE
SEAL NOW BUTTON.
4. Continue to hold bag until vacuum pump starts.
You may now release bag. The Vacuum Progress Light
will illuminate (Fig. 3).
NOTE: To prevent crushing delicate items, you may press
Seal Now Button
at any time to begin automatic

sealing process (Fig. 3).
5. When red Seal Indicator Light

(Fig. 3) turns off,
remove bag (Fig. 4). Refrigerate, freeze or store as needed. (See
"Guidelines" for food storage safety tips on page 14).
NOTE: Wait at least 20 seconds between seals to
allow appliance to properly cool.

Important Tips for Vacuum Sealing
1. Slide drawer into unit until it clicks into place.
2. Keep bag straight and pull taught.
3. Insert bag slowly and steadily into sealing
channel until the appliance engages, holding
the bag level to the counter.
4. Center between guidance lines as bag is
inserted.
