Features
• Range Switch:
Lo for the lower measurement range (35 dB to 90 dB)
Hi for the higher measurement range (75 dB to 130 dB)
• Response Switch:
S (slow response time) for recording continuous sounds
F (fast response time) for capturing short bursts or intermittent noise
Max Hold for holding the maximum measured sound level on the display
• RESET: Press to reset the MAX HOLD function.
• Function (FUNCT) Switch
A-weighted scale (for common sounds)
C-weighted scale (for low-frequency sounds)
• Windscreen: Slide the windscreen over the end of the microphone to
reduce interference from wind. The windscreen is recommended when
wind speed exceeds 10 m/s (20 mph).
• Tripod Mount: Mount the unit to a tripod (purchased separately) for long-
term measurements.
Calibration Using Internal Oscillator
1.
Make the following switch settings:
Range: Hi
Response: F
Function: CAL 94 dB
2.
Adjust the calibration screw until the display reads 94.0 dB.
3.
Annual recalibration is recommended.
Operation
1.
Use the Range switch to select a measurement range (Lo or Hi).
2.
Use the Response and Function switches to select the various options
(described under Features).
3.
Read the display.
4.
Turn the unit off.
