• If you connect the headset to your PC's USB port after a game or application has
been launched, you may need to quit the application and restart before it will
recognize that a headset has been connected.
• To ensure that you are enjoying full multi-channel audio, take the following steps to
ensure that Windows and your game or application recognize the HS1 as a multi-
channel headset:
a) Windows 7, Windows Vista: use the HS1 software (described in the previous
section) to select 5.1 channel or 7.1 channel output.
b) Windows XP: engage Dolby Headphone using the HS1 software.
• Before making a call or joining a multi-player game for the first time, check your
microphone's volume with the Mixer controls in the HS1 software. You can mute the
microphone using the inline controller – if the lights are red, the microphone is muted,
and if they are blie, the microphone is active.
• The HS1 has been carefully designed to reproduce great-sounding audio no matter
what the source. However, don't be afraid to experiment with the environment and
equalization settings in the control panel. Start with flatter equalization settings for
the most accurate surround experience.
