introduction
The loop antennas, circular or octagonal small dimensions, have been present
among the amateurs from the decade of the 50s. In Europe have not been overly
popular, for it is not clear why. The antennae tuned, as is the case of the antennas
that we present now, are an advantage when receiving signals of very different
magnitude, with very heavily occupied bands.
Moreover, designers currently transceivers provide special care not to step in-
put preamplifier reception, due no doubt to broadband, as the most continuous
band from 0.1 to 30.0 Mhz. This implies a great facility to intemodulación, either
for lack of linearity of the inlet passage or by receiving signals outside the range
of the AGC of the receiver stations to be within 100 meters apart, with powers
above a kilowatt. Halo antennas, heavily tuned, with a bandwidth at-3dB from 25
to 65 kHz., For working in the vicinity of other amateur radio stations and be left
alone, to increase reception quality and not bother because cleaning our emis-
sion, greatly improves with the use of these antennas.
The high radiation efficiencies of between 45 to 97% depending on the dimen-
sions used in each case, to make them comparable half-wave dipole, since the
small efficiency loss of signal, become bearable to improve the difference bet-
ween the signal and noise characteristic of the HF bands.
Currently we must get used to the idea that the antenna is not inactive or passive
element, but is part of the team and helps improve our working conditions and
therefore the effectiveness against occupation drawbacks bands or proximity of
other hams .
Moreover, the small size of these antennas allows for the first time, and easily
take the transceiver and antenna to recreational areas, golf, beach or mountain
and work in similar conditions as a base installation.
This same circumstance of small size allows broadcasting from inside a home or
from a balcony floors or floor level, with perfect conditions ROE.
