Sheep shearing machine GT494(K) / GT694(K) and cutter head GT369
8. Adjusting cutter plate pressure
Adjustment of the cutter plates should be carried out while the
machine is running.
First, carefully loosen the regulating nut 8 until the upper cutter
plate 2 is no longer pressing against the lower cutter plate 1 (the
sound of the motor becomes noticeably higher-pitched) (see fig).
Next, slowly turn the regulating nut 8 in a clockwise direction until
the motor begins to run slower (adjustment according to motor
sound).
Avoid setting the pressure on the cutter plates too high, as this will
lead to excessive heat build-up, which in turn will cause the cutter
plates to wear out more quickly.
= high running speed = lower pressure on the
plates = less wear
9. Removing the cutter head
Unplug the machine before removing the cutter head!
Remove both screws 6. Then turn the cutter head very slightly
(about 15°) counterclockwise. The cutter head can now be removed
from the motor (see fig.).
The cutter head should be carefully re-attached to the motor after
it has been thoroughly cleaned and its gear wheel has been lightly
greased (see section 6). When re-attaching the cutter head, it
should be turned 15° counterclockwise in such a way that its lower
flange engages with the groove of the motor housing.
10. Cleaning the air filter
WARNING
Risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or injury to
persons!
Unplug this appliance before cleaning.

Débranchez cet appareil avant de le nettoyer.
The two air filters attached at the rear of the motor should be
removed daily for hand-cleaning or cleaning with a suitable tool
such as a screwdriver. The air filters should be thoroughly cleaned
with a brush in warm water.
After drying, the air filters should be re-attached to the machine,
which should be cleaned beforehand.
Important
Clean the air filters frequently in order to ensure that the motor is
adequately air-cooled during operation.
Under no circumstances should the machine be run without an air
filter!
11. Maintenance and repairs
During shearing season, the cutter head should be cleaned every few
days.
To do this, remove the cutter head from the motor housing (see
section 9)
Then remove the cutter plates (see section 7) and both housing
screws 11 (see fig.).
Use only a soft cleaning brush or paintbrush to give the interior
surfaces of the cutter head and other unit components a thorough
cleaning.
After carefully reassembling the machine, the cutter head should
be greased according to the instructions in section 5.
In order to avoid damaging the unit, we recommend that you
contact your dealer, who can supply you with replacement parts,
and can also repair your machine properly.
Before any work is done on the machine, it should always be
unplugged!
