6 Maintenance
Electrical power.

▶ Have the electrical part of the device repaired and serviced only by profes-
sionals or persons trained at the factory who have been advised of the
safety instructions.
▶ Before opening any housing parts, pull the power plug to turn off the
power.
Gas
Explosion hazard
▶ Only allow repair and maintenance work on gas components to be carried
out by authorised specialists.
▶ Disconnect the gas supply immediately in case of escaping gas.
6.1 Cleaning the workplace
Note
Never use solvents like nitro cleaner, per cleaner, sanitary cleaner, alcohol or
grease remover.
▶ If the workplace is only slightly dirty, wipe it off on the outside with a moist
cloth.
▶ Coarse dirt should be removed once a day with a scraper, and then clean
the workplace with a damp cloth and soap or similar.
6.2 Caring for the work surface
Care products

▶ Once or twice a week, thinly apply a care product to the cleaned and dried
work surface with a cloth.
▶ Leave for around 30 minutes, and then gently polish the surface with a dry
cloth.
6.3 Maintenance of the safety hose for the bunsen
burner
Note
Cracks can occur as a result of localised overheating, stresses/strains and
ageing effects, as well as due to heat, light, acids and alkalines. The safety
hose for the bunsen burner is a product with a limited lifespan.
▶ Carefully check the safety hose for the bunsen burner at regular intervals
for cracks, particularly in the area around the end bushing. Depending on
how much the product is used, checks may need to be performed at shorter
intervals, particularly if the safety hose for the bunsen burner comes into
contact with chemicals or is subject to external mechanical loads.
