SELECTING THE OPERATION MODE
The switching of operation modes can be per-
formed when the machine is not operating.
Rotate the operation mode switch 4 in the direc-
tion marked on the switch to the desired position
to choose:
(1) Impact drilling (Fig.6) - for drilling masonry,
concrete, etc.
(2) Hammer mode (Fig.7) - for chiselling and
demoliting.
(3) Adjusting the chisel position (Fig.8) to fix
the chisel in the desired angular position for
demoliting and chiselling (see "Adjusting the
chisel position").
WARNING: Turn the operation mode
selector switch only in the direction marked
on the switch. During each switching between
operation modes turn the tool slightly by hand
leftwise and rightwise until it is locked.
In impact drilling mode the rotary hammer
equipped with adapter and chuck 176838 (not
included) can be used as a drill for drilling in
steel, wood, plastics, etc.
ADJUSTING THE CHISEL POSITION
(fig.9)
- Insert the tool into the socket as it is described
in section "Inserting the SDS-Plus tool".
- Turn the operating mode switch 4 in position
"Adjusting the chisel position".
- Rotate the tool by hand to the desired posi-
tion.
- Turn the operating mode switch 4 to position
"hammer", and then turn the tool slightly by hand
leftwise and rightwise until it is locked.
Longer operation life of the rotary hammer and
higher efficiency can be achieved only with well-
sharpened tools for demoliting and chiselling.
AUXILIARY HANDLE
Always use the auxiliary handle.
Loosen the handle by turning it leftwise. Turn the
handle in the most convenient for operation po-
sition, and then tighten it well.
Do not carry the machine by a loose auxiliary
handle.
You can fix the drilling depth through depth
gauge 8. The depth gauge 8 can be fixed by
screw 9.

RECOMMENDATIONS fOR
OPERATION
Apply moderate pressure during operation (ap-
proximately 50-80 N)! Higher pressure will not
increase efficiency when drilling and chiselling,
but it will lead to decreasing the operation life of
the machine.
Take the drill bit out of the opening from time to
time to remove dust.
Watch out for the stage of bit blunting and re-
place the bit when considerable decrease of ef-
ficiency is observed.
The optimum capacity when drilling in concrete
is up to 24 mm, and the possible capacity is up
to 30 mm.
ACCESSORIES
▪ SDS-Plus drill bits for concrete Ø6 mm to
Ø24 mm;
▪ SDS-Plus core cutters up to Ø80 mm;
▪ SDS-Plus point chisels up to 300 mm long;
▪ SDS-Plus flat chisels up to 40 mm wide.
WARNING: We recommend using
these accessories or attachments when op-
erating your power tool. The use of any other
accessories or attachments might present a
risk of injury. Only use accessory or attach-
ment for its stated purpose. If you need any
assistance for more details regarding these
accessories, ask your local SPARKY service
centre.
VII - Maintenance
WARNING: Always ensure that the
tool is switched off and unplugged before
attempting to perform inspection or mainte-
nance.
GENERAL INSPECTION
Regularly inspect all fasteners and ensure they
are properly tightened. Should any of the screws
be loose, retighten it immediately to avoid haz-
ards. (Fig. 10)
If the replacement of the supply cord is neces-
sary, this has to be done by the manufacturer or
his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
