Precaution
On safety
• Operate the monitor on 100 to 120 V AC or 220 to
240 V AC.
• The nameplate indicating operating voltage, power
consumption, etc., is located at the rear.
• Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet,
turn off the power, unplug the monitor and have it
checked by qualified personnel before operating it
any further.
• Do not drop or place heavy objects on the power
cord. If the power cord is damaged, turn off the
power immediately. It is dangerous to use the
monitor with a damaged power cord.
• Connect the power cord to the wall AC outlet.
For connecting the power source, see "Connecting
the AC Power Cord" on page 26.
• Before turning off the mains supply switch, wait for
at least 30 seconds after turning off the power to
allow for the discharging of static electricity on the
CRT surface.
• After the power is turned on, the CRT is
demagnetized for approximately 5 seconds. This
generates a strong magnetic field around the bezel
which may affect the data stored on magnetic tape or
disks near bezel.
Keep such magnetic recording equipment and tapes/
disks away from the monitor.
• The wall AC outlet should be installed near the
monitor and be easily accessible.
On installation
• Do not place a heavy object on the monitor.
• Allow adequate air circulation to prevent internal
heat buildup.
Do not place the monitor on surfaces (rugs, blankets,
etc.) or near materials (curtains, draperies) that may
block the ventilation holes.
• Do not install the monitor in a location near heat
sources such as radiators or air ducts.
• Do not install the monitor near equipment generating
magnetism, such as a converter or high voltage
power lines.
