EXTREMELY IMPORTANT:
Read these safety instructions carefully in addition to the instructions for use, operation and maintenance. Keep this instructions sheet in an easy to find place
as you may need to use it again.
Handle the hydraulic workshop crane correctly and ensure that all parts are in good condition prior to its use.
Do not modify the hydraulic workshop crane in any way.
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for the improper use of the hydraulic workshop crane.
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (§ 7.1.1 de l'EN 1494+A1)
The owner and/or operator shall have an understanding of the product, its operating characteristics, and safety operating instructions before operating it.
Safety information shall be understood:
1.
Study, understand and follow all instructions before operating this device.
2.
Do not exceed rated capacity.
3.
Support the vehicle with appropriate means immediately after lifting.
4.
Lift only on areas of the vehicle as specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
5.
No alterations shall be made to this product.
6.
Only attachments and/or adapters applied by the manufacturer shall be used.
7.
Visual inspection shall be made before each use by checking for abnormal conditions, such as cracked welds, leaks, and damaged, loose, or missing
parts.
8.
It shall be the responsibility of the employer to ensure that applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) complies with applicable local safety codes.
9.
Any product that appears to be damaged in any way, is found to be worn, or operates abnormally SHALL BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE UNTIL
REPAIRED OR REPLACED.
10.
Before lifting a load, ensure it is on a stable, flat, horizontal and clean surface (no grease nor oil) (1).
11.
Check the load to lift is perfectly immobilised (2).
12.
To support the load, use another appropriate means.
13.
To prevent the assembly from slipping, always centre the load on the hydraulic workshop crane (5).
14.
Never use extensions (4).
15.
Check the oil level regularly (6). Conversely, too much oil can damage or alter the adjustment of the devices (see "instructions for perfect use").
16.
When changing the oil, never use brake fluid, alcohol, glycerine, detergents, motor oil or used oil. Using dirty oil can cause major internal damage to
your equipment. For more information, contact your FACOM distributor directly. FACOM recommends using the oil type
17.
Check the precaution label is legible at all times. When retrofitting your equipment, the operating instructions (NU-500EU_0218) is available.
18.
If the device jams, lift the vehicle with another jack until the first can be cleared.
19.
Do not use the hydraulic workshop crane in the presence of violent wind, frost, under extreme climates, near powerful magnetic fields or potentially
explosive atmospheres.
20.
Avoid any contact between the hydraulic workshop crane and food.
21.
Never use this hydraulic workshop crane to lift persons.
22.
Never use this hydraulic workshop crane as a handling means (for moving loads).
23.
Before use on a ship, please refer to the safety instructions in point 10 of these instructions.
24.
The maximum manual forces required for operating the hydraulic workshop crane (unloaded and loaded with the nominal load respectively) do not
exceed the following values:
To start moving an unloaded movable or mobile hydraulic workshop crane : 300 N
To maintain the movement of the unloaded hydraulic workshop crane : 200 N
To start moving a loaded mobile hydraulic workshop crane : 400 N
To maintain the movement of the loaded hydraulic workshop crane : 300 N
To lift the loaded hydraulic workshop crane using the lever of a hand pump: 400 N
To lift the loaded hydraulic workshop crane using a foot pump: 400 N
To lift the hydraulic workshop crane with a rated load ≤ 5 t using a crank: 250 N
NOTE : If the loads generated exceed these values, they must be reduced by the intervention of additional persons.
25.
If oil overflows, please do not use the hydraulic workshop crane, and refer to section 7 of these user instructions or contact your Facom dealer.
26.
This hydraulic workshop crane is designed for 5000 operating cycles minimum.
27.
This hydraulic workshop crane complies with the NF EN 1494+A1 standard: Mobile or movable jacks and associated lifting equipment.
Failure to heed these markings may result in personal injury and/or property damage.
2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PERFECT USE
1.
Before each use, check the hydraulic workshop crane. You must particularly check for oil leaks, damaged or missing parts.
2.
Faulty parts must be replaced by skilled staff with FACOM original parts.
3.
Each part in the hydraulic workshop crane must be checked in case of load considered abnormal or following a shock.
3. ASSEMBLY
See drawing (7).
4. USE AND OPERATION (§ 7.1.2 de l'EN 1494+A1)
1.
Before using the crane, it is necessary to purge air from the valve system of the hydraulic unit.
2.
This can be done by releasing the valve, then pumping the hydraulic jack several times.
3.
Closing the valve, the crane is now ready to be used. Swival the hydraulic unit a suitable operating position.
4.
Raising the load, close the valve and pump the hydraulic unit. Any manipulation of the pressure relief valve is prohibited.
5.
Lowering the load, release the valve slowly, the load can be lowered smoothly. Quick-releasing is strictly prohibited.
5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT: It is possible that air has got into the hydraulic system, causing poor lifting performance. Purge any air from the system by fully opening
release valve (turn handle counterclockwise as shown), then while holding the boom down, operate pump handle rapidly several times.
1.
To raise the extension boom, close the release valve on the hydraulic ram. Then, pump the handle until the extension boom reaches the desired
height.
2.
To extend the length of the extension boom, remove the axle. Pull out on the extension boom until the desired extension hole in the boom aligns
with the hole in the extension boom. Then re-insert the axle through the holes in the boom and extension boom, and lock the axle in place
with the locking pin.
WARNING! Do not exceed the maximum lifting capacities of this tool. Exceeding the maximum lifting capacities could cause personal injury and/or
3.
property damage. The longer the extension boom is extended, the lower the lifting capacity of this hydraulic workshop crane.
4.
Position the hydraulic workshop crane so that the hook is directly above the object you wish to lift.
