7. Maintenance and Care
The plunger disks are subject to wear and must therefore be examined
regularly and replaced whenever necessary. We recommend replacement
every 3 years or sooner if damage or wear is discernible.
A replacement set can be obtained from your dealer or your local
3M ESPE representative.

Prior to exchanging the plunger discs the power plug must be
disconnected.
For safety reasons only original accessories must be used.

Replace damaged plunger disks by loosening the screw in the middle
of the disk with the Allen wrench, removing the damaged disk, inserting
a new disk and retightening the screw (Fig.
! !
When exchanging the plunger discs, mount them with their
smooth side towards the foil bag. Otherwise the foil bag might
be damaged.
Care:
Clean all components with a soft cloth and, if necessary, a mild cleaning
agent (e. g. dish-washing detergent). Solvents or abrasive cleaners may
not be used in any case, as they can damage the plastic components!
- Cleaning agents must not enter the unit!
To disinfect all components, spray the disinfectant on a towel and use it
to disinfect the unit. Do not spray the disinfectant directly on the device.
- Disinfectant agents must not enter the unit!
- Dry residual disinfectants on the device with a soft and fluff-free
cloth, as they damage the plastic components.
If necessary, ask the manufacturer of the disinfectant if its constant use
will damage plastic surfaces.
Please note:

No components inside the unit require servicing or repairing by
the user.
3M ESPE will only take the responsibility for the safety, reliability and
correct functioning of the mixer if:
- Any modifications or repairs have only been carried out by
personnel authorized to do so by the manufacturer,
- the electrical installation complies with all regulatory requirements,
- the mixer is operated according to these instructions.

The plastic cartridges are, dependent on the frequency of being used,
wearing parts and thus are not covered by the guarantee for this unit.
They should be regularly checked as regards signs of wear and tear
(e.g. fissures) and replaced with new ones every 2-4 years. The use
of worn or faulty cartridges may result in damage of the foil bag or the
plunger discs.
8. Storing/Transport
Store at -20°C up to 60°C/-4°F up to 140°F.
The same temperatures apply for transport.
Maximal rel. humidity of air: 80%.

9. Return of Old Electric and
9.1 Collection
Users of electric and electronic equipment are required to collect their
old equipment separately from other waste in accordance with the
regulations of the specific country. Old electric and electronic equipment
must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste. This separate
collection is a prerequisite for recycling and reprocessing as an important
method for preserving environmental resources.
9.2 Return and Collection Systems

When your Pentamix 2 is no longer usable, do not dispose of the device
with household waste. 3M ESPE has set up special disposal facilities
to handle the equipment. Details about the procedure for the specific
country can be obtained from the pertinent 3M ESPE subsidiary.
9.3 Meaning of the Symbols
The EU Directive prohibits the disposal of any electric or electronic devices
marked with these symbols in combination with household waste.
10. Customer Information
No person is authorized to provide any information that deviates from the
information provided in this instruc tion sheet.
10.1 Warranty
3M ESPE warrants this product will be free from defects in material and
manufacture. 3M ESPE MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES INCLUDING
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR
A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. User is responsible for determining the
suitability of the product for user's applica tion. If this product is defective
within the warranty period, your exclusive remedy and 3M ESPE's sole
obligation shall be repair or replacement of the 3M ESPE product.
10.2 Limitation of Liability
Except where prohibited by law, 3M ESPE will not be liable for any loss
or damage arising from this product, whether direct, indirect, special,
incidental or conse quential, regardless of the theory asserted, including
warranty, contract, negligence or strict liability.
