General safety information / Warranty
• For the operation of your safety cabinet you must observe the national rules, regulations and laws
that are applicable.
• Before starting to use your safety cabinet you must carry out a functional check in order to recognise
any damage that may have been caused by transport, importation or improper installation!
• Safety devices must be checked at regular intervals – this should only be carried out by our trained
specialists! This guarantees proper and safe long-term storage.
• Warranty: in accordance with our General Terms and Conditions. See also item 13.
• Please also observe your duty of exercising due care – any damage must be remedied and spilt
liquids removed immediately!
• The area in which the doors open must be kept free and clean.
• Doors and drawers should only be open when items are being removed from or placed in the safety
cabinet – keep the doors/drawers closed!
• Please observe the maximum amounts that can be stored, shelf loading, etc., as per Annex 1 and the
markings on the door/drawer.
• The safety cabinets are not intended for the storage of aggressive substances (e.g. acids and alkalis,
corrosive gases) as these could corrode the interior fittings and the exhaust air extraction system! Our
special acid and alkali safety cabinets should be used for this. Attention! The storage of corrosive
gases in gas cylinder cabinets can adversely affect the function of the supply and exhaust mechanism.
This must be checked at regular intervals.
• Before storing substances (e.g. reagents) you must check that the cabinet surfaces are resistant to
them.
• To comply with EN 14470-1 the collection trough must be able to contain a minimum volume of 10%
of the contents of the containers stored above it, or at least 110% of the contents of the largest single
container – do not store too large containers!
• See 7.4 perforated cover plates
• Pipe and cable penetrations shall be carried out professionally according to fire protection
regulations and must not impair the function of the cabinet. After removing the cable and pipe
penetrations, the holes of fire protection must be locked, so that the overall design receives the fire
protection class. Failure to comply with the cabinet loses its approval. (see instructions inside of
cabinet door)
